~ Thoughts About Mary

Besides being great at caring
for Jake and being affectionate
and loving with him, Mary is a
really fun mom. She loves to be
silly with Jake and they often
team-up to scare me as I come
around a corner or squirt me
with a water bottle.

Mary loves photography and
playing tennis, and can’t wait
to take pictures of our children
playing together as they grow
up. I know she can’t wait to be
a mom to a second child.

~ Thoughts About Dave

Dave is the kindest, most caring
person I know. He loves being a
Dad and is a lot of fun. He is a
passionate cyclist and just
bought a double trailer to pull
Jake and the new baby behind
his bike on neighborhood rides.

Dave’s love of nature and desire
to pass that on to our children
was obvious during our recent
camping trip – teaching Jake
about hiking trails and bugs and
just quietly watching squirrels
bury nuts.

~ About Us

We knew each other for five years before
getting married in October of 1997. One of the
greatest things about our relationship is that
each of us is strong in areas the other needs
strength. Another is that we are always willing
to talk things through. We love being together
and our friends tease us about still having
“crushes” on each other. Humor is a big part of
our relationship and there is a lot of laughter in
our home.

We live in San Diego, California, in a neighborhood with lots of kids. We have a
biological son, Jake, born in 2006. It’s fun to sit in our front yard on summer
afternoons watching Jake play on the cul de sac with his friends. There are lots of
hiking and mountain bike trails nearby. One of the great things about San Diego is the
weather; we can spend time outdoors all year long – and we do!
